Lifeworks Services, Inc. was looking to build upon it’s mission to serve people with disabilities by continuing to developing important relationships and build community through the integration of social media with its marketing and communication channels. The goals were to:
- Create an online community focused around disabilities through engaging in conversation

- Become a thought leader in the field of developmental disabilities as well as a reliable resource of information for this community
- Build awareness, brand recognition, and generate buzz about Lifeworks’ programs and services
J.B. Sem Consulting facilitated the creation of a social media committee comprised of employees from different areas of the organization to monitor online discussions, share learnings with the group, and participate in online conversations. Utilizing Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn and a blog Lifeworks has been able to:
- Develop listening platforms
- Create employee guidelines for participating in social media
- Integrate social channels with website
- Build a system of reporting and measuring social channels
- Generate business leads
